A slightly late #OnThisDay. On 1 October 1933 Te Rata died at the age of about 55 in Huntly, New Zealand. He had reigned as Māori King since 1912. He was succeeded a week later by his son Korokī. #OTD #history #royals #royalfamily #nzpol #nzpolitics #kingitanga #maori #politics
