Mandevilla is a tropical or subtropical perennial plant belonging to the Apocynaceae family and native to South America; certain species are cultivated as ornamental plants for their flowers. These species are known as "mandevillas" or "dipladenias," taking their name from the genus *Dipladenia*, which is now considered synonymous with *Mandevilla*. This flowering plant is named after Henry Mandeville (1773–1861), a British diplomat in Argentina and gardening enthusiast who brought the first specimen of *Mandevilla laxa* back to England. A floral marvel and beauty=). Le Mandevilla est une plante vivace tropicale ou subtropicale de la famille des Apocynacées, originaire d'Amérique du Sud ; certaines espèces sont cultivées comme plantes ornementales pour leurs fleurs. Ces espèces sont connues sous les noms de « mandevilla » ou « dipladenia », tirés du genre *Dipladenia*, désormais considéré comme synonyme de *Mandevilla*. Cette plante à fleurs doit son nom à Henry Mandeville (1773–1861), diplomate britannique en Argentine et passionné de jardinage, qui a rapporté en Angleterre le premier spécimen de *Mandevilla laxa*. Une merveille florale d'une grande beauté=)
