"You are here as payment, of course."

She decided to change the subject. "Okay. So, you healed me, and now I'm here, but, um… why?"   "You are here as payment, of course.”   “P-payment?”   Seriously—even a fantastical demon is a capitalist?   “Yes, since I prevented your death and healed your body. You seem confused,” he replied, sounding as if he were baffled by her reaction, as if he had patiently explained an obvious concept like gravity that she was refusing to understand.   “Of course I am! I didn't sign anything or agree to be held liable, and—and sure, maybe I didn’t read it too carefully, but I’m sure there was nothing about demons in my power of attorney! B-besides, I thought you were a hallucination—and honestly, I'm still not entirely sure you aren't!”

Meet Deciduous 😈 At least... part of them... 😈

I gotta get back into doing these!

Evelyn scrunched her eyes shut tightly, taking a deep breath, then opened them wide as she jumped out, raising her fists in front of herself as if she were going to box whatever it was. Nothing attacked her, and instead of fear, curiosity struck. From a crack in the ceiling, small objects were falling down. Most of them were landing on the soft carpet, but anytime one landed directly on the growing pile, there was a sharp, tiny, almost ceramic 'plink!' noise. “What on earth...?” Evelyn mumbled as she looked down at the objects. “Beads of some kind...?” One of them bounced off the pile to land by her shoe. She reached down and picked it up, turning it in her fingers, then dropped it with a short scream. It was a human tooth.   “What the—what the fuck!?” she cried, stepping backwards.Deciduous the tooth monster drawn as The Nightmare by Macaron
