This week's writing prompt was painted by Mabel Frances Layng (1881-1937). Is your story going to focus on one of the women or on the person watching? #writingprompts #writingtips #writinglife #mabelfranceslayng #artworks

A painting showing a bedroom where three women are dressing. One woman is standing in front of a mirror on top of a dressing table with her back to the viewer. She appears to be braiding her chestnut-coloured hair and is wearing a sleeveless white camisole and grey skirt. On the left, seated on a bed, a second woman with dark hair in a bun is putting on her black shoes. She is wearing a striped purple skirt and a loose yellow camisole. The third woman is standing in front of the seated woman beside a table holding a white washbowl and jug. She is looking at the viewer as she fastens the blue belt of her blue tunic at her waist. The blue tunic is worn over a white and blue striped skirt. She has brown hair in an updo and very red lips. Image by Mabel Frances Layng (1881-1937) from Art UK.
