In the caption, Lisbeth knows it's ridiculous, because the one she's talking to, Aisling, has marked every possible calendar and sent numerous texts about the ceremony, but Lisbeth isn't looking to convince so much as be just believable enough that Aisling won't turn them into toads or the like, the same way that she has turned Jason, Felix, and Martin into women, along with the rest of the residents of the sorority house. Each was in some way responsible for a previous resident leaving the school, and while Aisling figured it was ultimately the work of some rival coven, there was still power in rebuilding hers with those she felt wronged her, with Felix/Lisbeth, a professor at the university, first. She'd initially felt terrified and played the part out of fear of what Aisling would do otherwise, and gave Jason/Sonja a leg up when the new roommate appeared.

Now, though, they were trying to avoid their confirmation ceremony - Felix said it just didn't feel right, Sonja isn't actually sure Aisling's powers came from worshipping Hecate, and Terri says Aisling's denomination with its male and female energy and strict gender roles sounds as bad as the church her parents dragged her to, though the lesbian polygamy is different.

They're actually relieved to see Aisling more heartbroken than angry - she's not a bad kid but too powerful for her own good - and say there will be plenty of other solstices, but for now they want to go out and have fun with the new lives she gave them.

Which is understandable; by the time the class-action trial started, Blake and the other girls were all pretty and poised, even if they dressed mannishly and went without makeup for court. All the defense's stall tactics meant nobody saw that the change took months with tremendous uncertainty until someone did an analysis of their blood and connected it to a nearby biotech firm. Police couldn't make charges stick to the longevity-obsessed billionaire who ordered to batch with a feminizing effect dumped, but a class-action suit was possible.

As the trial date got pushed out, though, Blake got used to her changed body in a way the other affected men didn't. Maybe she got a higher dose (although Walter's rack suggested otherwise) or maybe she'd been nonbinary all along. She hadn't publicly changed her pronouns or even tried on a pair of heels lest her looking comfortable make things harder for her new friends, but now that the jury was in, she wasn't going to spend another minute emphasizing what was weird and uncomfortable versus the benefits. She was glad the other members had gotten paid - the gender-affirming care many were going to undergo was expensive! - but she'd be spending her first chunk on a new wardrobe and a vacation somewhere exclusive where she could try on her first bikini!

Steve had originally been hired to do motion capture for martial-arts scenes - his mother Cindy had retired from making action movies when she had him, but taught him his style, and he had been doing that for animated/CGI films since her minor stroke - but a robotics company had come on board as a sponsor, so it became tele-operation. Which was all well and good until a power surge left a copy of Steve's consciousness inside the Cindybot, somehow, and found it quite uncomfortable when the other Steve or the body double for the non-martial arts scenes tried to puppeteer him.

He knew that this was technically a horror story, but it wasn't so bad; he (she? they? it?) didn't get tired or hungry, and didn't feel like an emotionless machine (though how would he know and would anyone on set say so?). The company had promised not to deactivate him and make cosmetic changes so he wouldn't look like and older-but-fit woman. They assumed he would choose to look as much like his original self as possible, but he was wondering if maybe he could become a star looking like Cindy's long-lost daughter or niece. On the other hand, Cindy's old co-stars hitting on him was weird, and there'd probably be a lot more of that if he looked like her in her prime!

"Wendy" was quietly repatriated on the condition this be kept secret, so Dave & Jessie hired her on as the nanny, the least they could do after already selling her flat.

She didn't mind - she adored her niblings, and it was a good way to start a new life in a familiar setting. And while today, she had mostly bought fancy Legos for when the kids are at school, she admitted she was trying to curry favor - they were growing fast enough to not need a live-in sitter much longer, and the former cool uncle wanted to be the cool aunt, even if they were no longer technically related!

It isn't except in terms of how three days ago, Aimee had joined Roger and his coworker Felix at a different bar to lament that the university was shuttering their entire department for the fall semester, and when asked what's next, Roger facetiously said "Hollywood music producer with a bunch of up-and-coming stars and a sexy assistant". Aimee wasn't sure about the last part, so Felix said he'd do it. It seemed like an uncomfortable joke, but Kaitlyn (still going by "Blake") found she really appreciated the validation, especially coming from within the community.

The second year was still fun, even if it was less grassroots, with a proclamation from City Hall, official events, and local merchants tying in, even as the city was starting to open; outsiders didn't really get it. But this third year, there were brands, competitions, and worst of all, tourists!

Like, just now, she was doing a little spin to show some friends an outfit, and some rando had just taken a snap and was probably going to put it up on Instagram like it was Mardi Gras or something! It's like people had all forgotten the true meaning of Booty Appreciation Month!

He'd been grateful, when he discovered he had the same rare blood disease as his Aunt Anny, that she could potentially cure it with the same nanotech treatment she created for herself, but his scan was corrupted and a flare-up meant she had to use her own scan as a template, making Steve her double. Unfortunately, she didn't have the materials to make more once his scan was restored, so she was off looking to buy them on the black market, while Steve posed as her for her work (fortunately, there wasn't as much R&D as management going on at the moment). Unfortunately she seems to be relishing being away from work too much, and is dragging her feet, and Steve can't think of any way to get her to come back other than maybe giving her a bad reputation!

With the sale pending, Wendy has been spending as much time in the club as possible, even sleeping there, since what was inflicted by a curse cannot be magically given by choice later, so she's hoping to rack up more time. Neither she nor the witches is particularly good at math, so they're not sure how long this will last beyond it not being linear. She thinks she's got a good 20 or 30 years racked up, but given how youthful she looks, she'd like to get to twice that, just to be safe!
