Here’s a sneak peek into my graphic novel!

The year is 1924, and the location a small fishing town in coastal Finland. The woman in dress is Tekla, a municipal physician, and on the right is her ”roommate” Lempi, a shipwright.

A page from a graphic novel by P. Valta. In the foreground are two white women in their early 30s. One is dressed in a coat and a dress with a dainty belt. She’s also wearing a bowler hat and carrying a briefcase. She’s looking to the side and waving to a passer-by, a man driving a horse carriage with crates stacked on it. The crates are labeled as containing baltic herring, underneath is the business owner’s name. The other woman is looking straight ahead. She’s wearing a small headscarf and worker’s overalls, and smoking a cigarette. On the background is a view of a street with residential buildings, and a cat sitting on the ground staring at a seagull on the roof.
