Those golds and dark browns are what I experienced on the Lost Coast Trail — pebbles shifting underfoot, bluff grass in fog, sand darkening at low tide — folded into canvas over 10 months after I finished that hike.

This work would not stay contained on the wall. It grew a root-like tail trailing across my studio floor. Stretching out like roots do. That reach represents the Lost Coast Trail, pulling me forward along the bluffs.
