A gilded figure of a ballerina on one leg, dancing atop a domed construction worthy of a cathedral. There are even marble type statues at its foot. The construction is on top of a theatre in central London - the Victoria Palace - and once must have dominated the street below. Now the ballerina has been upstaged by surrounding flats and skyscrapers. Her audience is on a higher plane.
