Some more rambling musings on tonight's game.

Great character from Ngumoha in the second half too.

First half he really struggled to make an impact on the game.

Second half he’s beating his man, and it’s his move that creates the chaos which results in MacAllister scoring.

That's it‼️ A win for Andoni Iraola in his first Champions League game in charge of #LFC #UCL #LIVATM

Iraola's Liverpool, still undefeated‼️ ✊ #YNWA

#SZ8 played well today and Wirtz also.
But I thought Kerkez, SZ8, and #Wirtz looked tired in the second half. #LIVATM #ynwa #ucl

Full-Time Musings

Vastly improved 2nd half from the Reds. Tore into Atleti from the off and a messy press of the 1st half became a coordinated full team press, and a lead that was never in doubt against a wilting Atleti. Szoboszlai, Wirtz and Araujo outstanding.

#LFC #LIVATM

So much better 2nd half. Slowly but hopefully surely these lads will gel. Great confidence and morale boosting win 🥳 💪🏽 #COYR #UTFR #LIVATM #UCL 🔴👊🏽

Get in there! Still a bit open in the midfield, especially in
the first half, but going forward, excellent. What a strike by MacAllister! Up the reds! 💪👊 #LFC #LIVATM #UCL #Redsky #LiverpoolFC #YNWA

Today, you could also see why Alexis MacAllister is starting over Ryan Gravenberch.

MacAllister was industrious and smart on the ball. Gravenberch was giving the ball away a bit too easily.

I know we have the statistical edge but I’m always nervous when ATM come to town.
I would’ve been ok with a point from that so I’m really happy with all 3.

Looking forward to seeing the highlights later.

Were we good value for the win?

I thought Bracola had a good debut. He got into some great positions but should've scored at least one.

Hoping his injury was a precaution and nothing else, because you can see him getting a bucket load of chances for #LFC.

FT: Liverpool 2-1 Atletico Madrid
A Szoboszlai strike and a Mac Allister rocket see Iraola’s reds take all 3 points. Hoping Barcola’s apparent injury isn’t serious as I was looking forward to seeing him against Fulham at the weekend! #LIVATM #LFC #UCL

The best thing about that Liverpool result was the way they pressed towards the end of the first half and the start of the second half.

You can see that when it fully clicks under Iraola, this team is going to be very, very good.

▪️ Liverpool comes from behind to beat a very combative Atleti at Anfield.

A good win for Liverpool. Hard-fought.

So many good performances out there.

Araujo, MacAllister, Szoboszlai, Wirtz and Frimpong were all excellent.
