Man how on earth does littleFedi run so much more efficiently than Mastodon? Like, what am I missing here? I can self-host littleFedi but I wouldn't dream of taking on self-hosting Mastodon.

I'm fiddling around with it here: @[email protected]

Hivemind, I'm looking for an advice for moving from #Mastodon to #LittleFedi instance.
What would you do?
- use littleFedi's built-in account migration setting
- use slurp to move posts
- something else?

Hey guys. Please take a look at LittleFedi.social. It’s new software by @[email protected] and Ivory doesn’t play nice yet. Consider me one of the users who would be very happy for this to happen.

Amazing! I'm so glad you all succeeded.

I suppose if Snac is Snac, then #LittleFedi is Lunc :)

@[email protected] where's your #littlefedi instance? this is taking too long

@stefano.rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it.ap.brid.gyOct 1, 2026, 5:00 PM

Now that #littleFedi has been released, and I can already see several instances run by different people federating with each other, this little instance feels like it's in good company.

littleFedi is out!

I might just mess around and see if I can create a little script to convert this Gotosocial database into a #LittleFedi importable ZIP, so I can bring my stuff over.

We're getting there...

This is one of the reasons why #littleFedi exists...

This is a periodic reminder that this instance is running littleFedi on a Raspberry PI Zero W powered by NetBSD

When using littleFedi on mobile, I’m usually going with the PWA. I find it even better than MastoBlaster. And that means a lot!

I'm planning to test #littleFedi a little (no pun intended) more, in the coming days. So expect more "normal" posts from the Raspberry PI Zero W instance: @[email protected]

@tchambers.indieweb.social.ap.brid.gySep 10, 2026, 11:58 PM

@stefano - for #LittleFedi have you thought about using the same technique or even the say relays as #HolosSocial and #HolosDiscover to have the micro single users server speak to and see the larger Fediverse better?

Now testing a #littleFedi post scheduled 24+ hours ago with more magnificent Acer macrophyllum. I will never cease to be amazed by these organisms and their (many) symbiotes.

Deer gods πŸ¦ŒπŸ™ I love these temperate rainforests πŸ’š

Looking up at a large maple tree beside a creek, its sprawling branches thickly covered in green moss, with bright sunlight filtering through the dense leafy canopy onto ferns and gravel along the bank.View straight up into the canopy of a moss-draped bigleaf maple, sunlit green leaves radiating outward from thick lichen-covered branches against patches of blue sky.A massive, gnarled maple trunk wrapped in dark moss rises from a lush forest floor of ferns, surrounded by tall maple and fir trees in bright summer light.A tall moss-covered maple dominates the frame, its twisting branches draped in green moss spreading beneath an overcast sky, with slender alder and fir trunks filling the misty forest behind.

Let's test a near-future scheduled post from #littleFedi with this photo of a magnificently moss-laden Acer macrophyllum I came across on a short walk through the Hoh Rainforest to the banks of the Hoh River.

A low-angle view of moss-covered trees in the Hoh Rainforest. Thick green moss coats the leaning trunk and arching branches of a bigleaf maple, with tall evergreens and patches of blue sky behind.

Well, this is happening. πŸ˜ƒ

For the first time, littleFedi is going to meet the public.

Berlin FediDay, Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, pre-release build.

Please be gentle with it.

Or don't. That's part of the test. πŸ˜„
