Go to see Russo return to form. Solid game and win for the #lionesses

Women’s football is a pleasure to watch. We need more of it on main stream tv

30 - The #Lionesses have never lost a match when a Manchester United player has scored (W29 D1).

Finishes 1-3. #Wiegmann allegedly tells it like it is, in private, so expect most players will have questions to answer. #Eng should have won 7-0 - possibly more. Epitomised by the woeful #Mead running offside & missing a tap-in in the dying seconds.

#Greece #Lionesses

Took some time, but good strike from #LeTissier then a smart turn from #Russo establishes order. 0-3 with more to come, surely?

#Greece #Eng #Lionesses

48 mins in, & some concern that #Eng have (remarkably) failed to score more than one goal. Poor referee, plus the occasional chance for #Greece…😬 could #Lionesses come a cropper, here?

(They are 5 goals better than their opponents).

England beat Greece in the first leg of this playoff tie! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Georgia Stanway scored the first, with Maya Le Tissier and Alessia Russo adding the other goals.

Kallisti Brouksair pulled one back for Greece, but England take the advantage into Tuesday’s second leg.

It has been a World Cup qualification semi-final playoff tonight. The England Women's team certainly have put on a good performance to win 3-1 in this first leg against Greece.🇬🇷 Well Done Lionesses.👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #GREENG #Lionesses

In the end, they made it look easy, and it should have been by 4 or 5.

Well played #Lionesses

But where was Chloe Kelly?

#GREENG

On ITV+1 so only just seen that moment of genius from #James. She can be infuriating… but hardly anybody in world #football does *that*.

Finally, a Le Tissier good enough to score for England
#Lionesses

Finally!

Took 60 mins but we are now shooting and finding our groove. Flight must've been shit.

#England #Lionesses #GREENG

When she plays for Arsenal, I hate her so much, but when Russo is playing for England, I love her - what a legend!

#Lionesses

We are miles off it tonight...

Very slow in decision-making, pass timing, and for some reason we keep trying to pass it into the net... Shoot ffs!

You know who we miss? Chloe Kelly! Someone who gets a yard, whips it in the box!

Quite the headache-inducing main camera for this #Lionesses game in Crete 😩

Our players can perform for the blonde Dutchwoman without embarrassing themselves but not the brunette... #Lionesses #AWFC
