A wide, cinematic illustration representing three anniversaries connected with 28 September. On the left, a single vintage 1920s floatplane flies above a large view of Earth, representing the completion of the first aerial circumnavigation in 1924. Warm sunlight, clouds and the blue curve of the planet give way to deep space. At the centre is Carl Sagan, shown in a thoughtful pose with his chin resting on his hand and looking upwards. He is surrounded by stars, colourful nebulae and spiral galaxies, representing the television premiere of Cosmos: A Personal Voyage in 1980 and humanity’s attempt to understand its place in the universe. On the right, a futuristic starship inspired by the USS Enterprise-D flies forwards through a dense starfield, representing the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987. Blue engine trails extend behind the spacecraft as it travels deeper into space. The image moves from warm earthly colours on the left to cooler blues and purples on the right, visually tracing the Link Salad’s progression: ✈️ around the world → 🌍 Earth → 🌌 the cosmos → 🖖 the final frontier

Pink the Panther 🩷🐾

Peter Sellers was born on 8 September 1925. Pink followed on the same date in 1979.

So what happens when Inspector Clouseau meets Pink?

Naturally, Pink becomes the Panther.
