Interesting building (former church maybe?) on Parkhill Road, near the Dingle Tower. Sketched on site last week and painted today 🙂

Chatted with my colleague all the way till my station today so no sketch... Instead I'll share another vacation backlog.

This was done at the same Utrecht mall. I sketched this lady who was sitting there, as if she was posing for me.

Vacation urban sketching backlog posting.

Day trip to Utrecht to get Miffy goods because my sister is a big fan. There was a huge mall beside the station, the Hoog Catharijne and I sketched there while the fam did some clothes shopping.

Cove Road, Prospect NS on a windy Thursday with the plein air painters. I decided to try a value study as there was a nice contrast between light and dark areas ❤️

Today's train sketch. I wish I didn't cover the end of the hair with the blue... Oh wells. You sketch and you learn.

Vacation urban sketching backlog posting, this time from Amsterdam:

Another sketch while waiting for food! Got most of the line work in before the dutch pancakes arrived... And finished up with the coloring after we finished the pancakes.

Started sketching late so just two quick stops to go before reaching my stop... I ended up with a full page spread but no time to color. Added color at home while watching youtube.

I did this quick sketch at a restaurant in Brussels. Was forced to stop when the food came, and I finished up in the airbnb afterwards. The mussels were absolutely amazing!

Boatober day 5. Strange picture, the boat looks like it is docked next to someone's lawn 😂

Not sure how old the reference photo is, but looks very 19th century ❤️

Sketches from this morning's #halifaxusk outing at Evergreen House in Dartmouth. I sketched this beautiful house at the corner of Newcastle and Albert streets, and got in a small sketch of one of the back windows on Evergreen House ❤️

Boatober day 2. This is a special one for me, having worked most of my career at an oceanographic research institute. This is the "Severn Sea", a 79 year old British research ship. If our own CCGS Hudson were still around it would only be 63.

I'm losing track of what I've posted and not posted... Did this by a Starbucks in Paris!

We stayed in a *massive* airbnb in Brussels. Sadly only for two nights... But at least I got to paint the exterior of the house from the private patio!

From this morning at the Dingle with the Plein Air Artists of HRM. This was my line and wash attempt at a value study using good ol' Bloodstone Genuine ❤️
