One of my faves today. Building Chester the Cheetah's lunchtime sprint up from acceleration to distance... and understanding why we feel like the days are getting so short, so fast right now. #LetsActuallyTeachThemCalculus #figaday 5.086/n #year5

One of my favourite weeks of class -- surface area : volume scaling rules, and the start of differentiation/integration, this year featuring Chester the Cheetah. #LetsActuallyTeachThemCalculus #figaday 5.084/n #year5

One of my faves. We review a whole bunch of functions, their equations, their graphs, their intercepts and limits... and then students categorize figures from the literature and come up with explanations for why biology makes these shapes! #LetsActuallyTeachThemCalculus #figaday 5.080/n #year5

Linear equations, how they work, treating them as measuring accumulation of rates (prep for calculus, the mathematics of change!), and when they fail biology. #LetsActuallyTeachThemCalculus #figaday 5.078/n #year5

Forgot to post this yesterday, but we're delighted by our amazing, collaborative teaching space for calculus discussion sections! #LetsActuallyTeachThemCalculus #figaday 5.077/n #year5

We're doing it again 🥹

First class of the first day of school. What an incredible honor.
