I thought those pills would play into the story but no.

In a world that inflicts Cruz Beckham on us it's great that 1950 publicity engines worked like today. An imaginery celebrity getting murdered: perfect. Maybe someone could do so for Cruz Beckham. Please do.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #202 "Sweet Are the Uses of Publicity" (07-Aug-50).
So good I pray it wasn't lifted from a prior show. Might be the best ep yet, there's plenty of competition.
Riley arriving at the mid cliffanger and barking out he's got a corpse was marvellous.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #201 "Voice of the Giant" (31-Jul-50).
Mixed.
As there were only two suspects so the resolution went out of its way to make it clear the death wasn't murder. So while commendablee in going against the norm it was an unguessable clumsy resolution.

When a radio show gets its formula so perfect that it can tweak it as it wants you know said radio show has reached that perfect grace. And that's where "Let George Do It" is at. Will this high standard that's been present for a fair time TBF last up until 1954?

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #200 "The Golden Lizard" (24-Jul-50).
Might be ep #202 but my numbering says #200. TBF nobody back in the day counted eps at all.
This run of eps is perfection and this ep is superb.
So much is packed in withs great thematic fare at work too.

I also got confused and sidetracked about why everyone in the class was female and why it was set over summer? Was that a thing in USA colleges back then? It probably is some relic of history that would've been unnoticed by 1950's listeners.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #199 "Eleven O'Clock" (17-Jul-50).
1950 loves the hypno. At least this adheres to the rules of hypnotism.
As ever I missed all the clues, My excuse is there's not enough world building in these eps so I have to guess the setting somewhat.

Great ep.
Set on the Mexico-USA border where firefighters regularly help each other's country out regardless. An undercover Mexican fire insurance investigator is murdered but left a letter for George.
Would the Mexican cop really have contacted George to come down?

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #198 "Island in the Desert" (10-Jul-50).
I like how the set format in the prelude to each ep is now getting tweaked to startle the listener. It's a real sigh they writers are in absolute control of this show right now.
Off to Mexico once again!

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio 197 cont'd.
Was the eagle voice artist used here, Bill James, also employed for the condor in Radio ep #94 "A Close Call" (12-Jul-48)? The latter doesn't credit the voice artist however. But both sounded very similar and were pretty powerfully voiced so I suspect so.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #197 "The Scream of the Eagle" (03-Jul-50).
Another great set up. With a $5M inheritance up for grabs the sole heir is a young woman who supposedly drowned but whose body was never found. So every imposter ever is at it.
I liked the actual eagle.

This run is on fire and has great re-listenability for working out if the motiviations line up.

I love how bad tempered Riley is. So much so I wonder if Wally Maher was also tempermentally sick!

My one flaw was the foley of the singing still a thing post-death.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #196 "Most Likely to Die" (26-Jun-50).
Wouldn't the coroner have worked out the time of death or did he not commit suicide the previous day?
The class of 1930 have a 20th year reunion.
Would the Ra-Ra chants still take place after the first death?

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #195 "So Low in Whispers" (19-Jun-50)
Bravo, great ep.
I loved how high brow it was with the death's all relating to specific operas.
The killer was seeded well yet I missed all the clues. I wrongly thought it was just going o be that promoter.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #194 "The Iron Cat" (12-Jun-50).
Brooksie in physical danger at the end was actually quite disturbing.

I like the late twist after the main twist. I never guess them. I guessed a second murderer but assumed it was the business partner.

Good ep.

#LetGeorgedoit Radio ep #193 "The Witch of Mill Hollow" (05-Jun-50).
Not as good an ep as for me the witch's personality didn't land that well. I thought they were going to highlight her persectuion in the community but when she surfaced she was a bit of an asshole.

#LetGeorgedoit Radio ep #192 "Sudden Storm" (29-May-50).
What i like about Riley being back is that none of his replacement generics were as cranky. Loved it when he barked at the kid.
Again I love the poverty in this even if it was similar to Radio ep #183.
Fine ep.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #191 "Portuguese Cove" (22-May-50).
Another very strong ep. This is quite the run of excellence.
I like how we've no idea about the real crime from the client's letter.
Love all the characters, back plot and George's decuction at the end.

#LetGeorgeDoit Radio ep #190 "The Ant Hill" (15-May-50).
Great ep.
The final twist I expected but I'm not sure George ever had enough evidence to piece it together. Maybe the guy's ant hill description up front could've been by George used as a pointer to his identity?

#LetGeorgeDoit Radioe ep 189 cont'd.
If a script does get reused it's because it's a great episode and this is a great episode regardless of it being a George Valentine or a Richard Diamond ep first.

Also fabulously Wally Maher is back this ep. He's clearly in bad health and dies soon quite young.
