One line that changed how I spend my energy: there's a difference between someone pressure-testing an idea to understand it better and someone flatly denying it to win.
The first is worth your time. The second is a tabloid in the checkout lane you get to walk past.
The urge to justify yourself isn't insecurity. For a lot of late-diagnosed women, it's a survival skill you built before you had the words for it. You learned early that disappearing was safer than disagreeing.
You don't look autistic is evidence that the masking works.
