I have oftentimes
reinvented myself anew
With the rehabilitative turn
of time-loosened screws
Yet, the repair is temporary
in a woefully weary world
Where ferocious fear
and doubt attack foundations
While slick-tongued despots corrupt the heart of nations
With evil as the all-access key
to my unravelling will
And I dare to think I might be better still
relieved of all burdens
By the loss of breath
and reciprocal responsibility
I did never ask for in a soul to begin with.
