White lace gathers where she pauses, one foot lifted above the floor.

Poem in alt

A closely cropped portrait shows a person in a layered white dress beside a worn plaster wall. Their face is outside the frame. Dark strands of hair fall near the top edge, while gathered fabric and frayed lace spill over one raised thigh. A sheer lace stocking covers the lifted foot and leg; the other foot rests on dark wooden floorboards below. A small, dark window occupies the upper left corner. Soft light picks out the lace’s delicate patterns against the rough wall, with the dress trailing down to the floor on the right.
