September means the holiday craft panic has begun. Knitting three gift hats for my upcoming Germany trip and wondering why past me chose sock-weight yarn for ALL of them. These tiny stitches are endless! Send strength (and chunky yarn). 🧶 #KnittersOfBluesky #WIP

Glåssen | 2026 Yarn Advent + MKAL

This holiday season, Wöldten is offering something completely new: a yarn advent and mystery knit along, all in one.

Glåssen is a scarf built from sixteen short row shapes worked in asymmetric intervals. One main motif recurs throughout, echoing back and repeating out of sequence, mirrored both horizontally and vertically, the way a phrase gets picked up and reworked in improvisational jazz.

The design draws on the visual language of the late 1960s: mod shapes, pop art minimalism, bold graphic edges. But where that era moved fast and loud, this design moves slow and quiet.

Starting December 1st, you'll receive one small update a day through Ravelry: a section of the pattern, a work of art to sit with, sometimes a bit of music or a writing prompt. By December 25th, you'll have the full pattern in hand, along with a bonus pattern variation.

There are two color stories this year, each a genuine mystery until your bobbins arrive.

Loamwood
An old growth palette pulled up from the forest floor. Imagine sinking your feet into a mossy bank while listening to the sound of a distant waterfall. Dragonflies dart overhead, and you're drawn to the beauty in the details below.

Skyfeld
The rain clouds have dispersed, leaving the sky tinged in shades of pink grading into a beautiful blue-violet. Birdsong brightens your day, and a field of flowers welcomes you.

Kits include 24 hand-dyed bobbins from Plied Yarns and three skeins of Pokainu Yarns Bluefaced Leicester in Driftwood.

Not interested in a kit? The pattern is available on its own too. Purchase through Ravelry. A group has been set up there as well for you to join in the conversation.

Pre-order is now open and closes September 29th at midnight. Kit quantities are limited and will go on a first come, first served basis.

Hard-leaning Type B knitter energy: winging a Sophie Scarf, trusting that styling it will magically make sense once it off the needles, and using a sleeping dog as a tension weight. 🧶✨ #KnittersofBluesky #WIP
