Born 10th October 1959, Kirsty MacColl was a brilliant British singer-songwriter known for her witty pop narratives, vibrant Latin rhythms, and iconic collaborations like "Fairytale of New York". Her life was tragically cut short while saving her son from a speedboat in Mexico. #KirstyMacColl
Happy Birthday to singer, songwriter, solo artist & collaborator with many others, notable for her duet "Fairytale of New York" with the Pogues' Shane MacGowan, Kirsty MacColl, who would have been 67 years old today (1959-2000)

Kirsty MacColl would have been 67 this week. Her debut solo single "They Don't Know", (1979), reached no 2 on the Music Week airplay chart. However, a distributors' strike prevented the single getting into record shops, and the single failed to appear on the Singles Chart. I miss her. #KirstyMacColl
"I suppose it's a bit subdued in a sense. It's more personal & serious to a certain extent. It was the hardest album I've ever done. I hope the next one is easier & I hope I'm not as depressed as I was when I did this album"
