A Small Sample of Obsidian Codex Press' 'The King in Yellow: A Tragedy in Two Acts'.

Been working on this for about a month and a half now, I am working with 15 wonderful voice actors, volunteers, 2 musicians and an artist to bring this to life.

Day 3, Monochrome (least favorite color)
my least favorite color was yellow so i decided to try my hand at something inspired vaguely by the king in yellow and all the different ways people try to depict it as a corporeal form

The last two weekends have been wild. Had my first booth at a Con. Among other things offered these guys here. My King now has a proud new owner and will be surrounded by a nice frame soon. I'm so proud ^//^

And now, a few of John's emotes. His "tusks" are very important for expression. I might do some more, I have to figure them out. Here: Disgusted, pleased, hesitant/slightly nervous (he def taps the curls together).

Finally managed to finish my simplified John ( #kinginyellow ) design. Well "finish". I'm still playing with the bottom of his robes. I spent some time making a mockup in Nomad to help me figure out his shapes since I'm not good at simplifying things in 2D so bonus render.

Have You Found the Yellow Sign?

Once the King in Yellow has a genealogy, he stops being a rumour and becomes an entry. Every era that explained him made him smaller.

As someone who LOVES the "In Search of Darkness" long documentaries, I was pleased to find that someone did an almost 5-hour long (!!!) deep dive into the first season of "True Detective".

Come with me to dim Carcosa, where black stars rise above Lake Hali, and the tattered Queen in Yellow awaits to dry your tears.
