@tyson.chemicalsora.moe"Another Side, Another Story (Deep Dive)" was catnip for many of us back in the day. The so-called secret video spread like wildfire in early aughts' internet — FM wasn't for sale in the West. We were edgy teenagers: we thought black cloaks were cool.
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeBut yeah, that's a wrap for #KH1! Next up is RE:COM, but I'm not starting it until I'm done with the second Persona piece.
Enough dillydallying.
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeThat sepia tinted cutscene harking back to the islanders' past, and one new to Final Mix, drives home how the group was broken by events that are bigger than three kids.
While you could argue it was Riku's fault, I'd rather keep an open mind as I freshen up on the stories again.
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeI get the impression that this sounded better in Japanese. Then again, Ansem SoD is somewhat darkness-sexual...
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeI never saw this cutscene in the original! So cute~ 😍
Never got all 99 pups back then...
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeI should be good to face Ansem SoD at this level. I'll leave Sephiroth for another time, not really feeling like grinding.
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeKnew the Leon/Cloud battle felt long, and it did, clocking at a little over seven minutes. Geez... soloing this will be tough...
I can never decide on which boy to focus first. Maybe Leon as he's more nimble?
@tyson.chemicalsora.moe
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeNope, I can't — not at level 53. I could try again just before facing Ansem at End of the World?
Y'know, I've *never* beaten Sephiroth. Not even on the original.
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeCan I even beat Sephiroth at my current level...?
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeNot sure why, but this scene gives me goosebumps still after all these years...

@tyson.chemicalsora.moeAnother scene new to Final Mix: Riku's plunged deep into the darkness after Ansem completely took over his body. Regretful but determined, Riku wishes to see Sora & Kairi one more time.
Then, a voice calls out to him. Mickey.
The despairing teenager has a reason to fight once more.
@tyson.chemicalsora.moeAs confirmed by his journal entry once Ansem Riku is defeated, Riku was supposed to be the Keyblade master. This detail will become relevant in Dream Drop if I'm not misremembering key events in KH2...
