Interesting set of drams, it feels like Jura are heading in the right direction with their core bottlings at last.

I think we need to be mindful of what the idea behind a lot of Jura is right now, and that is simple, approachable whisky.

The higher abv drams held up better than the lower abvs. Would I buy? Probably not. It's not for me. But also, there are many excellent IB Juras out there.

I know the 12yo has a low ABV but there are times you just want a comfort dram. My favourite was the 15yo in the sherry cask but I'd happily drink them all

I've been quite disparaging of Jura over the years, as I knew they could produce some wonderful whisky if they tried. Tonight they proved it to me. The 2 sherry cask whiskies were outstanding, but the 15 takes the win for me tonight. #JuraWhisky

Jura 15 Sherry cask on the palate: I can definitely taste that plum/hoisin sauce note, Chinese pancakes, marmalade, black cherry ice cream, milk chocolate & Chinese 5 spice. Mouthfeel is lipsmackingly oily, & finish is long and peppery.

I really want Chinese food now.

On the palate 15yo Jura sherry cask 46% - Spicy, but with endless nuttiness and milk chocolate. Literal liquid snickers. A spicy Snickers bar. Then some limoncello and Arancello Schnnaps. Again, then a sour note to end.

Palate: Caramel toffee, Victoria plums, tannic oak, lemon citrus, maritime salt and cinnamon warmth

Finish: Lingering caramel, woody oak and cinnamon

Smokier with water, Chinese braised pork & aubergine, gammon with glacé cherries, dark chocolate truffles, dark chocolate cherry liqueurs, cherry lips, floral gums, liquorice pipes, oak box, black marker pen, post-dry cleaner duvet, silage. Smoky Scotch broth and liquorice finish #JuraWhisky
