My BFF growing up was modern orthodox, so I spent many a shabbos at her house including holidays like Sukkot.

My dad, ever the comedian, called Sukkot 'Sukkah Season' because of all the Sukkahs erected in our neighborhood (which had a very large Jewish presence)

I thought #Jewishsky would like.

In Judaism, repentance, or teshuvah, isn't about regretting past sins. It's about self-transformation and discarding what made you sin so you can be a better person. And since that's kind of what Yom Kippur is all about, that's why I say it was good for me this year.

While I was working from home and streaming services, I realized something I've been doing over the past year or so hasn't been healthy for me. Not like I'm doing something bad for my physical health, but like it wasn't good for my growth as a person.

In case you didn't know, Yom Kippur, or the Jewish Day of Atonement, is this Monday. This is the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, where we take time to reflect on our actions this past year and repent for our misdeeds.

I had a nice surprise today when I was speaking with a potential vendor for something we were hoping to purchase for our office. As I was spelling out my name so the vendor could send me a quote, he asked if I was Jewish. I confirmed I was, and he wished me a Shana Tovah!
