The stakes are huge.

As #JafariSinclaireAllen, Professor of Black Studies at #ColumbiaUniversity, writes in #TheNation:

“This is a transatlantic movement to end the independent production of knowledge about race and power—and to decide, on both shores, who is permitted to produce it at all.”

To overturn that frame, to take back the power, we first have to lift the

hood. Collectively name what is wearing it. That starts with bringing the

voices of those producing knowledge from the front lines

back to the centre, and listening when they sound the alarm.

Jason Arday was afforded no such attention.

The stakes are huge.

As Jafari Sinclaire Allen, Professor of Black Studies at

Columbia University, writes in The Nation:

“This is a transatlantic movement to end the independent production of

knowledge about race and power—and to decide, on both shores,

who is permitted to produce it at all.”

The question now is whether we can recognise the hunt for power

when it disguises itself as free speech, academic freedom, or

scientific concern — and refuse our assigned role in the

killing of our democracies.
