Postconference field excursion to Cies Islands with #iwsg2026

1/5 A real highlight of #IWSG2026 in Santiago de Compostela was catching up with @jengill.bsky.social. I first saw Jenny speak when I was just 14 and hearing about her & colleagues’ long-term work on Icelandic Black-tailed Godwits had a huge impact on me.

Excellent closing to the @waderstudy.bsky.social Conference, with a brilliant plenary talk by Clemens Küpper @chorlnev.bsky.social: "Evolution of diversity: intraspecific variation matters for Ruffs (and others)". In Santiago de Compostela (Galicia,Spain) #IWSG2026 #IWSGconf

Great to have so many people from so many countries at this year's conference. A brilliant job by all the organisers - well done! #IWSG2026

Our Chair, @bksandercock.bsky.social, closes a really wonderful International @waderstudy.bsky.social conference. Thanks to all organisers 🙏🙏🙏 #iwsg2026
