It's a lovely rainy morning in southern California. Here's a comic I made when I first moved back here. Now that I've been back for several years, the thrill of a rainy day has returned. ☔

Panel 1) A woman stands looking out a window. The text reads:
"It rained last night."
"Since I'm staying at my mom's, I instinctively went to the window to check the gutter."
Panel 2) A young girl in pink pajamas looks out the window* at a car approaching the gutter swelled with rainwater. The text reads:
"Growing up here, it was a big thrill when it rained enough to flood the gutter."
Panel 3) The girl jumps excitedly, with arms and braids flying, when the car drives through the flooded gutter making huge waves, The text reads:
"It was especially exciting when a car turned the corner."
Panel 4) The woman from the first panel, now outside in a yellow raincoat, with an umbrella, doing her best impersonation of Gene Kelly's dance, splashing water with her foot along the curb, and singing, "I'm singin' in the rain..." The text reads:
"After years of living in New England, it's funny to me that rain was the big weather event as a kid."
*It's the same window view in panel 1 and panel 2, but my mom remodeled at some point. So the current window (panel 1) is fancy with brown wood, an almost a bay window shape, and a curtain across the bottom half. The old window (panel 2) is flush to the wall and painted off white.
