A few weeks ago, I posted a blog about following up worked examples by asking "What would happen to the answer if I changed the question slightly?" Here's another example of this from the blog.

Ally Lewis joins us for a conversation about improving math instruction for multilingual students. Thurs, Oct. 15 at 7 PM EST www.facebook.com/math4allshow or tinyurl.com/5hdrd5zd @mollyvokey.bsky.social @heidisabnani.bsky.social #iteachmath #iteachmaths #math4all
With Y8 in #MathsToday, we investigated negative powers. I wanted a self-assessing activity to quickly spot students struggling after setting the task.
So I used my generator to create a 🔺 puzzle.

Just wondering whether OpenAI's actions (and their implications) have made it across to the mathematical education sphere. I'm reading a lot of reaction from higher education, not from secondary (or primary) and so am curious as to whether folks know
A colleague shared one of the best ideas for tackling one of the biggest headaches… tools covering questions! 🤯

Took about half an hour to code, but I’m pretty happy with the result. Hopefully it solves the problem! 🙌

🧠 Need students to recall key facts before starting a topic?
Try Tim’s Game (thanks Tim Middleton 🙌).
Students read each fact, then try to remember what disappeared. Simple, quick and great for retrieval!
I’ve reworked my Maths Phrase game!
Students answer qu's on mini whiteboards to uncover tiles and guess what’s hidden in the image.

Juliana Tapper joins us to talk about math intervention. Join us on Thursday, 10/1 at 7 PM EST www.facebook.com/math4allshow or tinyurl.com/5hdrd5zd @mollyvokey.bsky.social @heidisabnani.bsky.social #iteachmath #iteachmaths #math4all
I’m rolling out a much cleaner dashboard for Maths Copilot, designed specifically for tablet, laptop and desktop users.
It makes better use of the available space while now providing a consistent, responsive experience across all devices.

I’m redesigning parts of the site to work better across different devices. This morning: Card Flip and Wheel of Reward.
Both are great for encouraging mini whiteboard participation and you can now customise the rewards too! 🎯

Remember the old KS2 maths audio tests? 🎧
The ones where pupils had to listen carefully, process the info and work things out independently?
That’s the thinking behind the Level Up audio questions on Maths White Board.
Anyone making a slasher movie on the cheap and want a prop?
Forgot to empty my pockets when putting my school clothes in the washer.
Created an esti-mystery formatted for a newsletter where all the clues can be seen at once instead of revealed one at a time. Can you find the number of buttons in the cup? Suggestions for improvements? #ITeachMaths #MathsToday
🪲🗞️ Exit Ticket Generator bug squashed!
There was a bug stopping images from appearing in generated tickets. It’s now fixed. ✅

And the little Easter egg in the tickets? Scan the QR code to discover what happens… 🤯
Fingers crossed this helps students see that mathematical working isn’t just a list of calculations.
It’s a story: each step has a purpose, builds on the last, and moves us towards the answer.
That deeper understanding is what I’m hoping this activity develops. 🤞
