While in #Torrance, I stopped by the Depot Restaurant that operated in an old #PacificElectric depot (1912) designed by architect Irving Gill. The restaurant recently closed and will be hosting a parking lot sale on October 6. #IrvingGill

A photo of the Depot restaurant taken from the outside. Bits of the palms trees can be seen in the photo along with potted succulents on the porch. There is a small tiled-clock atop the building (tho I don't think it's original to the building). Photo of the Torrance Historical Society plaque reads: Historic Building / Pacific Electric Railway Station / The Depot / Built 1912 / Irving Gill, Architect / This depot was part of "the World's Greatest Interurban" the Pacific Electric Railway system. P.E. tracks crisscrossed the Southland carrying passengers and freight on the famous Red Cars for over three decades. The P.E. Main Repair shops were located nearby. Depot functions ceased in 1981 under the ownership of Southern Pacific Transportation Company."Printed with a beige & brick-red background, this flyer attached the restaurant window reads: Parking Lot Sale at the Depot Restaurant / Tuesday, October 6th / 10am - 2pm / 1250 Cabrillo Ave., Torrance. Next to these words stands a caricature of the Depot's chef holding up a martini glass with an olive.
