Thinking more about MM's "Dial it down" comment, I hope public sector workers on Molesworth St are as loud as possible next Wed.

I hope the rest of the public realise that the strike is for their benefit too & groan at the gov rather than at the disruption.

The third level education sector has a €240m funding shortfall
(they got €10m in #Budget27).

FFG & its alumni are happy to give a €200m tax cut to the rich via a reduction in CGT rather than fully funding the education the next generation.

€10m for universities,
€20m for greyhounds.

It's easy to talk, the hard part is the listening.

"I'm only John Dallon. If the people of Ireland go out protesting, I'll join them"

That's a no then.

(Closest to 1 on the bets I think)

I may have missed it, but I didn't hear anything in #Budget27 about storm preparedness, food security, or emergency planning.

They don't matter I suppose 🙃

Today's "budget for the working people/squeezed middle" was extremely underwhelming and wholly unsatisfactory.

I, like many I imagine, will not be any better off after all these changes take effect when you factor in everything.

It looks like they weren't expecting Pearse Doherty to be there & had to bring a high stool in from the kitchen island for him.

IFAC missed a trick with their "Fast & Loose" flash #Budget27 release by not working in Flaithiúlach somewhere.

And yet Jennifer Carroll-McNeill just said on #rtept that the State can only afford to give a shingles vaccines to immunocompromised over 85s.

Haha, #rtept being less than subtle with the tractors in the background.

Place your bets on what John Dallon will say:

1) Thank you Simon Harris for gutting the carbon tax, you're welcome in my tractor anytime.

2) We're so back, tractors & trucks of Ireland unite!

3) Racist Raiméis

This is very very far from an important point about #Budget27, but why do they still need to print the giant books for TDs?

They all have phones to read the PDF on the website like the rest of us.

Did they finally fit the printer in the door?
What happened to the CD-Roms & USB keys?

If only we had taken advantage of negative borrowing costs post-covid, when we would have been paid to borrow.

But we couldn't because Paschal was afraid of the ghost of austerity.

Handy that.
