A grey and white marble plaque held onto a wall with cramps visible at the top. There are six lines of Latin, a gap, then two more lines. The top six lines say "Memor virnuum Iohanne Conjugis honeste genere nate hoc Sepulchri monumemtum Marius Georgius Ross. Evangelij Praeco estruendum ourarvit. Anno a quievitilla Etatis trigesimo Septimo 29 Sept 1726." Google translate renders this as "In memory of his virtuous and honorable wife, born of a respectable family, Marius Georgius Ross—a herald of the Gospel—caused this sepulchral monument to be erected. She passed away in the thirty-seventh year of her age, on September 29, 1726" which may, or may not be correct. Sadly, I never had the chance to be taught Latin!
