This osprey posed in perfect light on Friday. #HuntingtonCentralPark #Birds #Nature #Photography

Perched atop a dead tree trunk is an osprey in profile. We see his/her white chest and neck facing right. The wings are dark brown , and s/he has a brown eye stripe which blends into brown on the back of the neck. A shiny, hooked, black beak with a sharp point stands in relief to the blurry greens of the tree in the background. We see the right, round, yellow eye clearly as the bird looks out over the lake (not pictured here).

It's National Hummingbird Day! These little balls of magic are a blessing. Allen's hummingbirds are very common here in Southern California. This was taken on Wednesday in the Secret Garden in #HuntingtonCentralPark. Have a great day! #Birds #Nature #Photography #grateful
