9/8/1935: Carl Austin Weiss shot Huey "Kingfish" Long, the populist Senator from Louisiana. Long died two days later. Long's bodyguards shot & killed Weiss. Some believe Long was actually hit by a stray bullet fired by one of the bodyguards. #assassinations #politics #history #HueyLong
