Some of this year’s Carolina reaper harvest. They literally look scary—like the orange handle on a diner coffee carafe, nature’s way of saying, “Do not eat.”

I grow these for fun. I can only use them by processing into “insanity pepper” flakes and adding micrograms to make soup spicy. #hotpepper

Spent yesterday at the incomparable Canada Linc Farms in Malahide Ontario (near St Thomas, south-east of London) picking #superhot #chili peppers from their massive pepper field. If you have the opportunity, you owe it to yourself to visit at least once.

A de Neyde #hotpepper from our #garden. These ripen to a dark purple / near black. First time growing them, and we're loving the look of the pods! Some sites have these at 100K-250K SHU, but we don't really know what to expect.

Look how pretty this pepper is. First bite was very bell pepper with a bit of something sharp. I told Dan to try it. While he was taking a bite, I realized it had a very delayed heat, and it wasn't going away. It's duller, but 15 min later i can still feel it. #hotpepper
