I hate that I keep being too busy on Wednesday afternoons to participate. But here’s what the fine folks of #HorrorWritersChat were up to yesterday!
Look what #HorrorWritersChat was yesterday up to. Lots of good recs to read this #Halloween 🎃

#HorrorWritersChat You see questions like this and you have to wonder, to think about it and be honest with yourself. I would like to think I planted the seeds of a storyteller. I know the early harvest was sort of meh, but it grew, and now? Now I feel confident in my words, and my legacy.
#HorrorWritersChat The harvest was good this year. Too good. Everything was bigger, more enticing than it had any right to be during a drought. Most of the citizens of Old MIll were perfectly capable of ignoring it, but Cletus knew better. It was the harvest season, and the horned god watched.
#HorrorWriterschat All about me in my pinned post and bio. The creepiest thing, considering life experience, that I can imagine growing where it should not would be mold, fungus, or some weird type of mushroom.

I'm Jackie Velvet, and I mostly write body horror. I also write cosmic/eldritch horror because angels scratch my brain funny. Most of my horror is poetry.
Imagine a tooth. But, it's soft and gummy. The root is exposed, and it...moves.
Hi, I'm Elias, I write quiet horror shorts. #HorrorWritersChat Q1: the creepiest thing growing where it shouldn't is a second doorframe inside the first, and a third inside that, in a wall four inches thick. I draft with AI help and edit hard. #horrorwriterschat
in insula, the interpersonal relationships between my five kids are ripening
their psyches though are rotting…pretty swiftly, too
hello! I’m pun and I write surreal horror
I dreamt once that I kept dying and every time my sister planted my body in the earth and I kept growing new limbs
more, longer, branching out and braiding together like a banyan tree, and the snakes and other animals had branches too
Thanks, Erin, for plowing through some great #HorrorWritersChat questions that’ll grow on you…
Actually, for this one, actual reality did all the planting for me. I just have to harvest.
I’m technically on vacation, but when I get back, here’s where to find out what I’m doing when I have something to share:
The harvest was good this year. Too good. These things always came with a price. I sighed and grabbed the mop, bucket, and lye. There was work to be done.
Right now, the MC's sanity is decaying, and it's going to be amazing when she finally snaps 💛🔪
Q4 #HorrorWritersChat
Foreshadowing: Chapter 2 of WIP. Dylan’s expression changes when Georgette mentions children taken below. Innocuous reaction at time but pays off later - hopefully 🤞
All of the above, as well as some conceptual art I made to help get me focused on what was going on around the MC…
Thanks to the overly bountiful harvest, the market just collapsed. Mary Mary, Quite Contrary, was now looking at an inquiry from the agriculture department and other government bodies to figure out just how she got so much out the the rows she planted…
Hey there, I’m Diane. I write horror that tends toward religious themes, but it’s not the only theme. I’m going to go with body horror here and say appendages. Any appendage, really. If a third arm grows out of a back, or if a tree grows hands…either way, kinda creepy. #HorrorWritersChat
