@bearcaveofterror.bsky.socialDay 7 is 1977's Exorcist II: The Heretic, directed by John Boorman. Wacky, experimental, and also has James Earl Jones dressed like a giant grasshopper. Linda Blair does great, and Louise Fletcher is a SAINT. Sadly hypnolights and Richard Burton in Africa put me to sleep...

@bearcaveofterror.bsky.socialDay 6 was 1964's Evil of Frankenstein - the 3rd of Hammer's series of Frankenstein films, this one directed by Freddie Francis. Not the best sequel, this creature has a bit of a five-head, and does the evil bidding of a hypnotist, while Peter Cushing gets quite perturbed!

@bearcaveofterror.bsky.socialDay 5 is 1991's Popcorn, directed by Mark Herrier. Day 5 is 1991's Popcorn, directed by Mark Herrier. A love letter to midnight movie marathons, with a wacky killer, Ray Walston, and Dee Wallace! The fake B-movies are a hoot!

@bearcaveofterror.bsky.socialDay 4 is 2000's They Nest, directed by Ellory Elkayem, who went on to make Eight-Legged Freaks! A made-for-TV movie, with mostly unlikeable people attempting Maine/Boston accents, and super gross cockroach attacks. I was not prepared to be traumatized by a classroom hamster!

@bearcaveofterror.bsky.socialDay 3 is 1999's Cherry Falls, directed by Geoffrey Wright and starring Brittany Murphy. This is super late-90s slasher fare, with an absolutely batty hook. Part Twin Peaks, part American Pie, part Psycho, and all types of wacky.

@bearcaveofterror.bsky.socialDay 2 is Shivers (1975) directed by David Cronenberg. Set in a condo building on a Montreal island, the residents become infected with parasite slugs which turn them into sex-crazed psychos. Sexuality, violence, and bodily autonomy are explored in this gory, shocking classic! #horroraday
@bearcaveofterror.bsky.social@oneofmanysteves.bsky.social kicking off the first week of his annual #horroraday October marathon! This week features a mix of new and classic/cult horror options - feel free to watch along!
@bearcaveofterror.bsky.socialExit 8 (2025) directed by Genki Kawamura, is an unsettling film depicting people trapped in a liminal space resembling a subway tunnel, trying to escape what seems like an infinite loop. I loved this, and now I'm looking around my house for anomalies, just in case!
