This guitar is a semi-hollow body archtop Saturn 63 made in 1963 by German manufacturer, Hopf. It was made with a carved spruce top and maple back that come together seamlessly. It has two teardrop sound holes with chrome binding which are located on the bass side of the body. The guitar features a satiny smooth tremolo tailpiece and a rocker mounted adjustable bridge. It has a "futuristic", space-age design inspired by the early 1960's era of space exploration. The unique look of this model, with its metal piping for binding on the body and f-holes, got the guitar a starring role in an advertisement for the famous "Star Club" in Hamburg. Robert Smith of the Cure played one of these in his 1992 video, "Friday I'm In Love". This Saturn 63 is 100% original and in excellent condition, great for playing and collecting. It is super clean for its age. And, has wonderful warm, big tones and it plays and sounds terrific.Description from VintageSilvertones.com

This is a hollowbody, double cutaway, Jupiter 63, electric guitar made in Germany by Hopf. The guitar features a white plastic (maybe reso-glas) body with grey plastic binding, a black plastic pickguard with the Hopf logo on which all of the electronics are mounted. It has two single coil pickups, a fully adjustable, metal bridge with individual string saddles and a metal cover, and a fixed metal tailpiece. The guitar is in beautiful shape for an instrument that is 60+ years old. It has practically no blemishes and it plays and sounds superb. Its fast action feels fantastic under your fingers. It includes the original brown leather soft case. This guitar will be appreciated by both collectors and players.Description from VintageSilvertones.com
