QUOTE:
Aonuma: When we decided to set The Wind Waker in the sea, we thought a race that could fly through the sky was absolutely necessary. … Then we remembered Rouru of the Watarara from your manga. I liked that story a lot. In the end, the story ended up being different from the manga, but the Rito race that appears in The Wind Waker was influenced by Rouru.
Honda: … When we were asked to write a bonus story [for the Ocarina of Time manga], we wanted to introduce a new race, but all that was left was one that could fly in the sky.
Aonuma: Ha ha ha! We were thinking the same thing!](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_fullsize/plain/did:plc:2e7f2uvcguv4d5qxqnyjmk32/bafkreifzwdj5bi7t3qxtelhujerru5zxqyl3iykigtqomwsvrbd6br2lv4@jpeg)
