Katy C. Cook is a proud first-generation Venezuelan-American and 2026 graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, becoming the first in her family to cam both a college and low degree.
Before low school, she organized for immigrant rights in her hometown of Mami and graduated magna cum laude from Floride Intemational Universily. Dunng lo school, Katy focused her advocacy on Immigrants navigating the immigration and criminal legal systems, particularly those facing detentian and tre disproportionate harms expertenced by LGOTQ, low-income, and communities of color. Through tho UW Immigration Law Clinic and internships ith Al Otro Lado.
Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, and Uhe Snohomish County Public Defender Assocation, she reprosenfed survivors of trafficking and persecution, delended youth and adults, supported habeas corpus afforts, and mobilized fellow lan students to provide pro bono service lo immigrant communities.
This Taff, Kary joins the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project in Tacomo as an Equal Justice Works Fellow, providing cuffurally humble, client centered advocacy for immigranis novigating delention.
