Happy 20th anniversary! #Hinode was launched from Uchinoura Space Center, Japan on 22 September 2006.

Look back at this book, assembled from two special issues in the journal #SolarPhysics: Takashi Sakurai (ed) The Hinode Mission. Springer (2009) doi.org/10.1007/978-...

Twenty years after launch, Japan's Hinode solar observatory still works. A three-year mission now planned to run until 2033. Hinode maps the Sun's magnetic fields. It lifted off from Uchinoura on September 22, 2006, on the seventh and final M-V rocket ever flown.
