Our Redbone Coonhound, Ellie-May walking along a fallen tree. There are evergreen trees surrounding a turquoise, glacier-fed lake.

One of our favorite hikes anywhere is the Joffre Lakes Trail. The three, glacier fed, sub-alpine lakes possess some magical scenery. I'm certain that Ellie-May is trying to figure out how to get this stick home.

The crystal clear, turquoise water of Upper Joffre Lake sits below a small stream fed by the retreating Matier Glacier above it. Rocks can be seen below the water's surface. The rocky shore of the lake has evergreen trees growing in it, their reflections can be seen in the still water. There is blue sky, occasionally making itself visible through the moving mist.
