all modes are open this weekend if you want to do some test driving!
A Pro account is a one-time $7 purchase. You get all the modes, custom games, game design, PvP play, the leaderboard, access to old dailies, analytics, etc.
No ads. No subscriptions. No "currency" that you have buy to keep playing. Just have fun!
There is an All Time view and a daily view. They are both on the daily-versus mode, so it's standardized that way. If you like to play on custom boards, that's yours to play and it doesn't mix with the leaderboard.
Finally on the Pro account itself
The leaderboard is available to Pro accounts only. Anyone can view. Any Pro account that makes it to the leaderboard shows up as "Pro Player" as default anonymization. You can choose to broadcast your username.
Logged out play doesn't compete on the leaderboard.
It's here! A leaderboard for Daily Versus CPU mode!!
Pro accounts: your top scores from previous dailies have been factored in to the "All Time" leaderboard.

Early feedback from some core testers were scratching their heads about the hyperbolic geometry #mathart as a reward mechanism. So I'm rethinking it. But maybe I can use the existing mechanism to add some background color to each game mode?
Math is already stressful, so why not some more. :D
Here is a frantic walkthrough of Zombies mode for your amusement and rage.
Play with a Pro account. Do better than me :)
Oooh, today's Blocks mode has an ideal start!
Happy Monday! Zombies, Blocks, and Maze modes are open for logged out play for another 40 minutes!

I started getting used to adding to 20, and now I've been winning more
Older dailies are still available at their own URL
hexsumgame.com/daily-2/2026... <-- you can just type in the day in YYYYMMDD format after you identify the daily that you want to play.
I haven't made a 'previous daily picker' yet, but will!
How are we liking Zombies mode? Feedback I've gotten has been
- 'gives me anxiety'
- 'it's definitely hard'
- 'you get into a panic and then it's all over!'
but these have all been positive vibes.
Let me know your thoughts!

Some fiddling with hyperbolic geometry and the solution of a HexSum board
What do you think? I'm still twiddling with this and working out some bugs.
some nice reading:

Here's a preview of something I've been working on from my HexSum boards.
This is an abstraction of the solutions of the daily puzzles. (And these are solves for my local build, not what's in production.)
I'm working on a math art idea / feature :)
It is possible to beat the zombies! But you have to be fast.
The robots are relentless and they're not dumb enough to fall into the pits like zombies without brains are.
Zombie mode is free on weekends. See if you can win!
HexSum players! Guess what! I've extended the logged out play time to be from Friday 6pm to Monday 9am (ET). Because really, the weekend begins on Friday.
Zombies, Blocks, and Maze dailies are now live :)
The mode is live! 😁

(and if you are not a Pro account just save this post and come back to it on Saturday when all daily modes are available for logged out play!)
Zombie mode is getting, um, an "upgrade". Robots, stars, and butterflies are coming.
Sneak preview.
Definitely going to be harder. Still have to do a few game play tweaks for balance and fix some UI bugs. Should be ready for Saturday!

whoops, a roller skater got through!

You'll need a Pro account for today's Zombie game, but other modes are available at HexSumGame.com
You can create or design your own HexSum games with a Pro account.
I want people to be able to play a game without all the annoying ads, constant upsells and microtransactions, and subscription plans.
Get a Pro account for $7, like the old days where you pay once.
You can also play HexSum in Standard mode. It's an easier version of Maze mode. In Standard mode, you have to use all the hexes exactly once by find paths that add to the target value [10].
