As Heraclitus said, “No man ever slips and falls into the same river twice, for it’s not the same river anymore, and he’s not the same man.” Isn’t that the truth? This time around, I’m not even a man anymore, but a sexy maid.

Although then again, one could argue that I have always been a woman; my outward gender expression just didn’t match my actual gender the last time I encountered this river. I don’t know. I guess such a line of argument is a well-meaning attempt to stall any attempts at conversion therapy scams and “we can pray your gender queerness away” nonsense. If my gender is an inalienable part of my identity, any attempt to change it must be futile. But is that actually true? I feel like a sexy maid today. Who knows what I will be the next time I try to cross this river. Maybe next time, I’m still a woman, but instead of a maid, I’m a fierce warrior woman wearing plate armor.

Maybe next time, I’ll wear some boots with some better grip.
