The Village Beneath the Clock
A towering clockwork structure looms overhead, Something ancient walks the streets.

A vertical dark fantasy scene depicts a nightmarish Gothic village swallowed by green-gray fog and illuminated by scattered amber light. A wet, uneven cobblestone street leads from the foreground into the hazy center of the village, bordered by crooked, tightly packed buildings with steep roofs, narrow windows, iron fences, and tall pointed towers. Ornate black streetlamps cast warm pools of orange light across the stones and surrounding mist. At the center of the street stands an unnaturally tall humanoid figure resembling a woman formed from tangled roots, dead branches, and a shredded black gown. Her thin arms extend downward into long, twiglike fingers, while enormous branching antlers or tree limbs erupt from her head and spread across the sky. A tiny human silhouette farther down the road emphasizes her immense size. Above everything hangs a colossal, impossible clock tower composed of dense scaffolding, machinery, tangled structural elements, and glowing openings. Its large illuminated clock face peers through the fog like an enormous suspended eye. Bare black branches frame the upper corners, while distant birds circle through the murky sky. The combination of warm firelight, cold green mist, distorted architecture, and overwhelming scale gives the village the appearance of being trapped beneath a living mechanical nightmare.
