After years of loosing her first daughter Caroline/Kyaro as a baby, she chose to become a swordswoman dedicated to defending her village home from the impending return of Lord Numajaw.

Timeskip Harumi. Here, she's aged from in her late 20s to early 30s to in her early 40s, given the scars on both her tentacles hair and face. Her swords remain the same from her ninja years, only to have gotten more sharper as she got older. It is believed that she got help from devoted husband Hakusho, who encouraged her not to back down from her fears after grieving their first daughter being lost far too soon from a rainstorm in the years prior.

Now, you may be confused or wondering as to why I drew Harumi in a battle woman dress like this.

Well, that's because I wanted to allow Harumi grow as a character away from her being a lovey dovey mother which would get tiring after a while. I added scars to her face to allow her to face the struggle of being a warrior but never giving up her determination and to stopping the eventual return of her family's most feared enemy: Lord Numajaw.

The beautiful Harumi Takeuchi, as updated for September 2026.

Given her birthday is tomorrow on the first day of fall, I thought it would be nice to go back and redraw Harumi's reference sheet. The previous reference sheet weren't exactly holding up well by today's standards, and I had to make careful adjustments to her eyes, tweak the kimono, and her feet + sandals too.

Harumi definitely was a challenge to get done for Monday night, but I did my beautiful moonlight inkling mother the respect and love she everso needed for the night.
