Sometimes, out of impatience, I try something I know is bound to fail. Like this badly applied glaze on a badly finished piece.
And sometimes, somehow, it kinda works.

These must be my favorite "improvised" pieces I've come up with. Sometimes I just sit at the wheel and try out shapes, then try out more things at the trimming stage, and even more when glazing... Some rare times, like with these ones, I like the result.

I started with the idea of making a simple flower… and somehow ended up sculpting all these layers and textures. 😅

Sometimes, being far from perfect is what makes it perfect in some eyes.

These small cups have served for more tests than I can count. This one is one of the few I was genuinely happy with.
When the glaze isn't perfect, but the imperfections don't look like mistakes...

One of my latest vases, in Sea Drift.
I was reluctant to leave the interior unglazed at first, but I think I'm liking it more and more...

Sometimes, trial pieces work out better than expected. This one was a test for a newly formulated glaze, applied with a brush, which is something I don't usually do. And it worked out quite nicely.

My very first pot! Funny how the craft is called pottery, yet I hadn't actually made a single pot before this one. Only cups, vases, plates...

I make small nature-inspired sculptures from clay.
This is Night Dust, another of my own formulated glazes. It's an opaque, matte black that breaks into golden, earthy tones in places. I'm still learning how to control that reaction. Sometimes I absolutely love the result, sometimes I hate it. What do you think?
