Good news, all you faithful #HaleakalāSilverswordWatch V.2 fans & followers: Keith reports that our favorite blooming silversword survived the high passing winds of Hurricane Nolo, so Nolo was a no-go, yay!
(For those new to HSW, Hurricane Lala took out our first silversword watch plant.)

Hurricane Nolo is churning away south of Hawaiʻi, but hello & welcome to #HaleakalāSilverswordWatch V.2 (we lost our first plant to Hurricane Lala)!

Keith says the whole huge flower stalk is still 68" high 2 weeks after the last measurements. She is maxed!
Next: seeds!

It’s a once in a lifetime (for the plant) event.
The NEW plant's flower stalk is still 68" high today, a week after the last measurements, & Keith reports that blooms have opened on the very top!

Hello and welcome to #HaleakalāSilverswordWatch V.2! We lost our original silversword to Hurricane Lala & her 103mph winds, but HPPA’s Keith noticed a late bloomer, which was still compact enough to survive the winds, & now IT’S BLOOMING! 🌺🌸🌺🌸🌸🌺🌸🌺
