A moisture laden northeast flow will produce rounds of heavy rain & areas of flooding in southern #Hainan Island & central #Vietnam through Thursday, local time. The risk of heavy rain & flooding will lift to northern Vietnam for Friday into Sunday, local time.

The low in the South China Sea can strengthen to a tropical storm as it tracks toward the Gulf of Tonkin. The storm will bring periods of heavy rain to central & northern #Vietnam, #Hainan Island & western #Guangdong province in southern #China over the next few days.

Watching for tropical development in the South China Sea this weekend with heavy rain expected in #Vietnam & #Hainan Island. A good chance for a tropical cyclone to form toward the #Mariana Islands Sunday or next week. This storm can eventually impact #Japan.
