Seriously tho this trade was inevitable. Struble was at best a #6 with the #Habs. They needed to make room for Engstrom and eventually Reinbacher.

This relieves the backlog on D while giving Struble a chance to finally establish himself.

I am pleased to see that the #Habs brass decided to keep Arber Xhekaj over Jayden Struble.

Nothing against Struble, but the Sheriff brings an element hard to find: quality minutes for a #NHL top enforcer.

Now, go get a legit 2C and/or a rugged top-4 RD. #GoHabsGo

Vegas are projected to be a top 5 team this season. That means the pick acquired in the Struble trade will likely be somewhere around 60th overall. If you look at the success rate of late 2nd round picks, this was an okay trade for the #Habs but not a home run. It was asset management.

I see comments that the #Habs second period struggles can be attributed to the "long change" required, with defensemen on the bench far from their own end of the rink when a change is needed. The flaw in that argument is that the opponent also has a long change in the second period.

The big piece that was holding up all the trades is gone now. Struble to the #Preds for a 2nd rd pick.
