What students learn about the environment influences how they’ll treat it.

We all have to be a little more intentional with environmental education at home, in schools, and in our communities.

We also encourage more teachers to take up this role of environmental education, because the lessons taught influence the behaviours of learners.

Dr. Jane Goodall emphasizes the need to help young people understand the why and how of environmental challenges, so they can become passionate enough to join in taking action and drive solutions.

Let's continue to educate, inspire and empower the youth around us.

No wealth replaces a stable climate. No currency restores a polluted river or an extinct species.

Let us protect these natural resources.

recurrent flooding, desertification and poor waste management.

As we celebrate, let’s renew our commitment to protecting our land and natural resources. A greener Nigeria is a shared responsibility, and every effort counts. 💪🏽

Protecting these natural systems alongside engineered water infrastructure is essential for sustaining community water supplies.

When these systems are degraded, the resources and benefits we depend on become harder to access.
Protecting them means protecting our health, livelihoods, and wellbeing.

access to these natural surroundings becomes harder to come by, and with it, a source of rest that money can't fully replace.

We need to preserve these spaces that help us slow down, think clearly, and feel more at peace.

Trees provide shade, support biodiversity, protect soil, store carbon, and contribute to the wellbeing of communities.

Nature has value beyond what we can put a price on. We must protect and sustain it.

Food forests show us that protecting natural systems and meeting our needs do not have to be separate goals.

Therefore, coordinated action from governments, communities, organisations, and individuals is needed to build resilience.

Disaster response saves lives, but stronger preparedness and better planning can help reduce climate risks in the first place.

Targeted capacity development take active roles in addressing environmental challenges.

This goes beyond understanding an environmental problem. It is about strengthening our skills and systems to develop and apply practical solutions.

"We no longer sell bottles of water. Bring your empty bottles and use the water refilling stations."

This is what climate action looks like at the individual and business level.

Forests, wetlands, and other natural ecosystems help communities respond to climate change.

Planting trees, restoring degraded lands and protecting ecosystems are all part of climate action.

These nature-based solutions should be intensified.

Another important step is investing in recycling systems and green skills for youths. This can create opportunities while supporting the transition to a more sustainable, low-carbon economy.
